Kathmandu, 11 November: The Supreme Court order has paved the way for Nepal Communist Party(NCP) Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam to take up constitutional responsibility as the member of the National Assembly.

The constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and Justices Dipak Kumar Karki, Harikrishna Karki, Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha and Ishwori Prasad Khatiwada decided not to give continuity to the earlier interim order denying any constitutional responsibility to Gautam.

On 23 September, a single bench of Justice Anand Mohan Bhattarai had issued an interim order entrust with constitutional responsibility to Gautam, citing the reason of seriousness and constitutional significance.
