After centuries, Nepali people were compelled to mark a tasteless Dashain without visiting their
relatives and seniors, thanks to the COVID-19.
As the cases of virus surged before the greatest festival of Hindus, many Nepalis were confined to their workplaces as they feared to travel to their homes to mark the festival with family members. As a result, the roads which used to see heavy traffics during and after Dashain, wore a deserted look this year.
Now when the cases are close to 200,000 with fatalities crossing 1000 marks, the people are preparing to mark Tihar and Chhath. However, both the festivals are also likely to be tasteless as people tend to stay home fearing the virus.
