When there were reported two Covid-19 positive cases, the country witnessed lockdown. Now, there are around four hundred cases only in the Kathmandu Valley and a total of around 17 thousand infected cases all over the country, the lockdown has been eased.
The government is saying that the infection rate has surprisingly been declined but denying to intensify swab tests.
Experts say the real number of total Covid-19 cases can be five times more than the government claim.
Experts are also saying that the Kathmandu Valley is at vulnerable state for the spread of Covid-19 pandemic! Stay safe, don’t rely on the government!
How project cost is increased!
Journalist Hari Bahadur Thapa has stated that as high-ranking officials are misusing development projects, the project costs have skyrocketed.
For example, eight expensive Toyota vehicles belonging to the Melamchi Drinking Water Project are being misused by different ministries. The Drinking Water Ministry is using three vehicles; the Urban Area Development Ministry, one; the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, one; Regional Administration Office, Hetauda, one, and Kathmandu Upatayaka Khanepani, one.
To note, Melamchi is the most controversial and corrupt project in Nepal.
Give responsibility to pension holders
If we visit different private sector business houses, we can see government retired officers working there. After they retired from the government job, the private sector businessmen have recruited them.
Currently, the government is planning to increase the number of border outposts in Nepal’s international borders. Along with increment of the border outposts, there is the need to deploy more Armed Police personnel in border areas. If the government will develop a plan of deploying that retired APF personnel by giving them some financial incentive, on the one hand, the government could save money, on the other, the pension holders could get a job as well.
Understandably, the government retirement age is too early, yet, a pension holder can actively work ten years more. They can easily guard the border!
Odd, even PMs!
There is a serious quarrel between NCP’s two chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal on sharing PM’s post.
If they share the PM’s post as per the odd and even number as like vehicles operating during the lockdown in the country, the ongoing quarrel could be resolved!
