The state of democracy
Comrades in government seem so afraid of the Indians that they have not allowed to organize any demonstrations against India in Kathmandu.
Angry youths are being arrested from Lainchour, Maitighar Mandala everyday on the charge of organizing demonstration against India protesting Indian construction of link road by encroaching Nepali territory in Lippulekh.
In America, the scenario is different. A group of Nepalis in Washington DC organised demonstration against India, that too, in front of the White House.
Perhaps, Nepalis should go foreign country to organize demonstration!
Money making business from corona virus also
Thousands of people are returning home from India even during the lockdown period. Those who have no money, they are stranded in Nepal-India borders, however, there are rumors that those who can afford money, they can enter into Nepal via illegal routes. Those brokers take ten thousand rupees per person while crossing them through the Nepal-India borders! What a nice idea to earn money! Everywhere, there is money for those crooked people!
Indian vegetables in market
Due to the prolonged lockdown Nepali farmers have not been able to reach their vegetables in the market and green vegetables have been spoiled in their farm houses. On the other hand, Indians are importing Indian vegetables by trucks and the Nepali market is dominated by the Indian vegetables. Perhaps, we are heading towards the path of self-reliance, isn’t it Mr. Finance Minister?
Indian ghee in Nepal
Dairy farmers are facing heavy losses due to the decline of milk demand in the market due to the ongoing lockdown. Otherwise, Nepal is self sufficient in dairy products.
In the meantime, the government is planning to open joint venture in the dairy farming also. The idea is to invite Indian dairy giants Amul and Patanjali. If they are allowed to invest in Nepal, local farmers are obviously going to lose their jobs as they cannot compete in the market.
In the past, Nepal was self reliant on soaps and tooth-brush and tooth-paste products. Along with the arrival of Dabur and Unilever, our soaps and tooth-brush, tooth-paste disappeared from the market. May be, PM Olijee is thinking prosperous Nepal in this way!
