
Kathmandu, October 3: Senior journalist, former president of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), Kathmandu Chapter, and chief editor of Rastravani vernacular weekly, Hari Lamshal, 78, passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to a family source, he passed away at 10:30 this morning. His last rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat this afternoon.
A large number of journalists were present at the Aryaghat to pay last respect on him.
Lamshal contributed more than five decades to the field of Nepali journalism.
Lamshal had been suffering from respiratory problems for the past several years.

Always active, friendly and warm-hearted, Lamshal had the rare ability to connect easily with journalists of all generations, not just his contemporaries.
Lamshal’s contribution to the overall development of Nepali journalism, the rights and welfare of working journalists, and, in particular, his advocacy for self-financed newspapers and publications, will always be remembered.
