Live feed to track passengers’ baggage at TIA

Kathmandu, Nov 6: In a move to make baggage handling at Tribhuvan International Airport more transparent, organised and passenger-friendly, a live feed showing the baggage drop area has been made available in the baggage claim area of the arrival hall.

The new facility will allow passengers arriving in Nepal on international flights to monitor the process of unloading their baggage from the aircraft and transferring it to the baggage carousel. It is expected to help passengers stay informed about the status of their luggage and estimate how long they may have to wait before collecting it.

Previously, passengers had no way of directly monitoring how long it would take for baggage unloaded from an aircraft to reach the baggage claim area. This often left them uncertain while waiting for their luggage, with limited information about the baggage handling process causing inconvenience.

With the new arrangement, passengers can now watch activities in the baggage drop area from the arrival hall. The facility is expected to make the waiting process more convenient and better organised.
