Kathmandu, Nov 1: A delegation of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by its General Secretary Bipin Acharya, is set to visit China following an invitation from the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The visit is expected to take place soon, although the party has not disclosed the exact departure date or the delegation’s duration in China.
RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel said the proposed visit was discussed during a Secretariat meeting held at the party’s central office on Saturday. The delegation will travel to the People’s Republic of China at the formal invitation of the CPC.
The party has not yet shared details of the delegation’s composition or the agenda of the visit. Further information about the meetings and engagements planned during the trip is also awaited.
The proposed visit comes as the RSP continues its organisational review, particularly in Madhes Province and several districts where internal organisational issues have been reported.
During Saturday’s meeting, a task force led by Joint General Secretary Hari Dhakal submitted a report examining organisational problems in Madhes Province and some districts. The report also included findings from what the party has described as the ‘Madhes Audit’.
The task force was formed to examine the party’s organisational situation in the region and identify issues requiring attention.
According to Kharel, the Secretariat decided to conduct a detailed study of the report before determining the party’s next course of action.
The party will decide on further measures after reviewing the findings and recommendations, he said.
However, the Secretariat has not disclosed what specific organisational changes or corrective measures could follow the review.
