Lumbini Speaker accused of forgery and fraud

Butwal, Oct 28: A case has been filed at the Dang District Court against Lumbini Province Assembly Speaker Tularam Gharti Magar and four others on charges of forgery and fraud.

Ambika Kafle, a provincial assembly member from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, filed the case, alleging that a disputed letter used to remove her from office was forged.

The other defendants are Province Assembly Secretary Durlabh Kumar Pun Magar, secretariat spokesperson Lokmani Pandey, and provincial assembly members Santosh Pandey and Ajay Kumar Jha.

Kafle has alleged that the letter was prepared using the party’s letterhead, seal and the names of its office bearers without an authorised party decision or approval. She claims the disputed letter was then used as the basis for her removal from office.
