Kathmandu, October 27: The 19th Godavari Flower Competition and Exhibition 2083 will be held at the Jawalakhel Football Ground in Lalitpur from Kartik 12 to 16 (October 29 to November 2), organised by the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN).
The exhibition, being held under the slogan “Plant Godavari Flowers and Decorate the Surroundings of Your Home,” will be inaugurated by Rama Ale Magar, Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forests and Environment of Bagmati Province. Organised in view of the Tihar and Chhath festivals, the exhibition will feature 86 stalls.
More than 450 varieties of Godavari flower plants, along with other seasonal flowers, will be displayed and sold at the exhibition. Competitions will be held among five varieties of Godavari flowers—Miniature, Spider, Reflex, Incurve and Cut Flower—and the best entries will receive awards.
The five-day exhibition is expected to attract more than 39,000 visitors and generate transactions worth over Rs 13 million. According to the organisers, although demand for and supply of floricultural products in Nepal have been increasing annually, imports remain high.
