Kathmandu, October 17: Air services on the Pokhara–Jomsom–Pokhara route will be suspended from Wednesday (October 21).
Tara Air and Summit Air, the two airlines operating flights to Jomsom, announced the suspension through separate notices.
Tara Air stated that it had suspended flights to Jomsom effective October 19 until further notice. Summit Air informed its agents that it would discontinue flights on the Pokhara–Jomsom–Pokhara route from October 21 until the next season.
According to Summit Air’s notice, the decision was taken after a large number of passengers cancelled their tickets due to floods, resulting in a decline in passenger demand.
Tara Air also said that it had been compelled to suspend flights due to unavoidable circumstances. Tara Air and Summit Air are the only airlines operating on this route.
