Kathmandu, Oct 9: CPN UML senior leader Bidya Bhandari took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday. Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli administered the oath to Bhandari at the UML central office in Chyasal.
The UML appointed Bhandari, a former party vice chair, as a senior leader on Sept 24, placing her second in the party hierarchy after Oli.
Bhandari has returned to active UML politics after 11 years, following the completion of two terms as Nepal’s president. After taking the oath, she attended a meeting of the party’s Standing Committee.
