According to officials at the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, Gurung will leave for New Delhi on October 12. This will be his first foreign visit since being appointed Home Minister.

Gurung will attend the first meeting of the Home Ministers of the member states of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), scheduled to be held in New Delhi on October 13.

Nepali officials said Home Minister Gurung is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from various member states during his visit to India. He is also expected to meet Indian Home Minister Amit Shah.
