Debris collapse on Baglung road kills two workers, injures

Kathmandu, Oct 5: Two workers were killed and another critically injured after a mound of earth collapsed on them during road construction in Baglung on Monday.

The incident occurred at Bohoragaun in Nisikhola Rural Municipality 3 while workers were upgrading a local road.

At around 7:20 am, a JCB excavator, registration number Lu 1 Ka 3446, was digging along the inner road connecting Jhibakhola and Bohoragaun when a mound of earth suddenly collapsed from above, burying the workers.

The deceased have been identified as Lal Bahadur Budhathoki, 32, of Salyan and Raju Thapa Magar, 32, of Gaighat, Udayapur. Both were found buried under the debris.

Krishna Bahadur Gharti, 25, of Triveni Rural Municipality 5 in Rolpa, was critically injured in the incident.

Rescuers pulled Gharti from the debris and rushed him to Burtibang Hospital for treatment.
