The nation has entered into a dark tunnel: Rajendra Lingden

Kathmandu, October 4: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RJP) President Rajendra Lingden has said that a national consensus is needed among all political forces to get rid from the present political crisis.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress today, Lyngden said that the issues raised by him in the 14th general convention of the Congress five years ago are still relevant.

He said that the political situation in the country is becoming more complicated and the people’s disgust and hatred for leaders and politics has not improved.

“The kind of hatred and hatred among the common people towards leaders and politics has not improved. In the meantime, some changes took place, people changed, but still the situation in the country is not only where it is, it has become more complicated. The country has entered a kind of dark tunnel. Political fluidity has increased a lot”, he said.

Lingden claimed that the problem was not only in the individual but also in the system of governance and the constitution. “It has been seen in the last six months that the problem is not being solved by returning people. The problem is also in the system that you have brought to be excellent in the Constitution,” he said.

He said that the Constitution should not be treated as a document that should not be amended. “Constitution is not Gita, not Bible, not Puran, it is not untouchable, it is not operative. Yesterday, you may have thought well while making this Constitution, but today there are traces of error in it. That is why you have to mix the salty things,” he said.

Lingden said the politics of prohibition had put the country in more trouble. He said that the politics of prohibition has been going on from the king to the political party, from the party to the party and from the faction within the party, he should now get out of it.

He believed that the country should be elevated by restoration of monarchy, political parties and the young generation together. He said that we have to move forward with a new understanding of democracy in 2007, multi-party competition in 2046, inclusive proportionality in 2062/63 and protecting the aspirations of the Gen-Z generation.

Lingden congratulated the Congress leaders, including President Gagan Thapa, Biswaprakash Sharma, on the success of the 15th Congress Session.
