Kathmandu, October 1: President Ram Chandra Paudel has ended the ongoing session of both Houses of the Federal Parliament—the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
In accordance with Article 93(2) of the Constitution of Nepal, President Paudel ended the session on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal, Council of Ministers.
According to the Office of the President, the current session of both Houses of the Federal Parliament will stand prorogued effective from midnight on Friday, Ashoj 16, 2083 (October 2, 2026).
Earlier, a Cabinet meeting held on Ashoj 13 had decided to recommend to the President that the ongoing parliamentary session be ended. Based on the Cabinet’s recommendation, the President formally announced the prorogation of the parliamentary session.
