Kathmandu, Sept 26: The Department of Roads has announced a complete suspension of vehicular movement in 25 districts today due to heavy rainfall.
According to the department, roads have been completely closed to traffic in the affected districts as persistent rain has increased the risk of floods, landslides and other road hazards.
The districts where vehicle movement has been fully suspended include Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Mustang, Bajura, Kalikot, Doti, Achham, Surkhet, Salyan, Banke and Bardiya, among others.
The department has also restricted nighttime vehicular movement in 27 districts. The districts where vehicles will not be allowed to operate at night include Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavre, Rasuwa and Dhading, among others.
Meanwhile, the Department of Roads has urged motorists and travellers to exercise caution in the remaining 25 districts as heavy rainfall continues to pose risks to road travel.
