Kathmandu, September 24: A Sita Air aircraft has met with an accident at Dolpa’s Juphal Airport. The accident occurred at around 8:25 a.m. this morning when one of the wheels on the rear right side of the aircraft came off while it was landing.
According to Ram Dutta Chaulagain, Assistant Chief District Officer of Dolpa, the Sita Air aircraft, which had flown to Dolpa from Nepalgunj, was involved in the accident after one of its wheels came off during landing.
“The aircraft arriving from Nepalgunj lost one of its wheels on the rear right side while landing. Although the aircraft sustained minor damage, all the passengers are safe,” he said.
According to him, there were 13 people on board, including crew members. Of the passengers, 11 were men, and seven were foreign nationals.
Assistant Chief District Officer Chaulagain said that a technical inspection of the aircraft was underway following the accident. Further details about the accident will be known only after the technical examination is completed.
