Kathmandu, Sept 18: The Department of Transport Management has issued new guidelines allowing driving licence services to be processed online.
The department released the Guidelines for Delivering Driving Licence Services Electronically, 2083, on Thursday.
According to the guidelines, online applications for driving licences, renewals and category upgrades must be approved within 48 hours.
The text also states that transport offices should generally approve online applications for new licences, additional vehicle categories, duplicate licences and renewals within 48 hours. If an application is rejected, the office must inform the applicant and explain the reason.
