Kathmandu, September 18: The government has recommended ambassadors for 13 countries, including India, China and the United States.

A Cabinet meeting held today recommended ambassadors for the 13 countries. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal said the Cabinet had decided to recommend candidates for appointment as ambassadors to various 13 countries.

Khanal said outstanding individuals from various fields had been recommended for ambassadorial appointments. He said the nominees were selected from among people with expertise in different fields, those engaged in study and research, and individuals who have demonstrated leadership and worked in various capacities.

The government will now send the proposed ambassadors to the Parliamentary Hearing Committee for a parliamentary hearing. After the parliamentary hearing is completed, the government will send their nominations to the respective countries for agrémo.

Once agrémo is received, the President will appoint them as ambassadors to the respective countries.

1. Dr. Nischal Nath Pandey: India
2. Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma: China
3. Chiran Jung Thapa: United States
4. Former Chief of the Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana: United Kingdom
5. Jigyan Kumar Thapa: Japan
6. Suresh Kumar Karn: Israel
7. Prapti Sherchan: Spain
8. Sharu Joshi: Germany
9. Dr. Padmakshi Rana: Oman
10. Chudamani Kharel: Malaysia
11. Prof. Dr. Sangam Shrestha: South Korea
12. Dr. Manchala Jha: Sri Lanka
13. Giribahadur Sunar: Saudi Arabia
