Ensuring smooth gas supply is my priority: Minister Sah

Kathmandu, Sept 11: Newly appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Deepak Kumar Sah has said that his priority during his tenure will be to ensure a smooth supply of gas needed by ordinary citizens.

Speaking to journalists after reaching the ministry on Thursday, shortly after taking the oath of office and secrecy, Sah said he would give the highest priority to the people’s needs.

Asked about the gas shortage following his swearing in, he said, “People must get as much as they need. We will discuss the issue and take the necessary steps.”

Sah said that after assuming responsibility for the ministry, his first task would be to consult outgoing minister Gauri Kumari Yadav about the work carried out so far and the pending plans and then proceed on that basis.

Upon arriving at the ministry, the newly appointed minister showed respect. He removed his shoes at the ministry entrance before entering his office and bowed before the national flag placed there as he formally assumed office.

Sah, who was elected from Sunsari Constituency No. 4, was appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies after Gauri Kumari Yadav resigned from the post.
