Kathmandu, Sept 2: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has reported that 3,916 people remain unaccounted for following the Bhotekoshi flood.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the seventh day since the disaster, NDRRMA Executive Director Dr Dharmaraj Upreti said 3,916 people were still out of contact.
Among those missing are 25 Nepal Police personnel, 45 Nepal Army personnel, 13 Armed Police Force personnel and 15 employees of the Customs Office.
Similarly, three employees each from the Immigration Office, Langtang National Park and the Quarantine Office remain unaccounted for, Upreti said.
He also provided district-wise figures of people reported missing by the District Disaster Management Committees.
According to the committees, around 65 people from Rasuwa and around 155 from Nuwakot remain unaccounted for. Upreti said 639 people working at hydropower projects were also out of contact.
He added that 583 foreign nationals had been reported missing following the flood, along with 164 Nepali citizens who had been travelling with them
