Kathmandu, Aug 31: The death toll from the Bhotekoshi River flood on August 26 has reached 788, according to Nepal Police.
Police said 13 bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 52 in Nuwakot, 50 in Dhading, 58 in Gorkha, 194 in Nawalparasi East, 120 in Nawalparasi West, 37 in Tanahun and 264 in Chitwan.
A total of 2,742 injured people have so far been rescued, police said.
Twenty-five police personnel remain missing.
Meanwhile, 7,894 security personnel have been deployed for search-and-rescue operations in flood-affected areas.
