Kathmandu August 28: Following the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi area of Rasuwa, the bodies of 547 people have been recovered so far. The Nepal Police, releasing an updated report as of 3 p.m. today, stated that 4,473 police personnel have been deployed in the flood-affected areas.
According to the police, 27 police personnel are still missing. The police said one of the missing personnel has already been found dead.
Of the 547 bodies recovered, the highest number—221—were found in Chitwan, followed by 134 in Nawalparasi East, 44 in Gorkha, 40 in Dhading, 38 in Nuwakot, 29 in Tanahun, 28 in Nawalparasi West, and 13 in Rasuwa.
Similarly, 1,473 people affected by the floods have been rescued and provided medical treatment. Among those rescued, 572 were from Rasuwa, 898 from Nuwakot, and three from Dhading.
The police said 94 injured people are currently receiving treatment or have been discharged after treatment from various hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley.
