Kathmandu, Aug 26: Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to answer questions raised by lawmakers at today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meeting, scheduled for 1 pm, will include a question and answer session with the Prime Minister under Chapter 9 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2083.
Eleven lawmakers from various political parties are scheduled to question the Prime Minister. From the Rastriya Swatantra Party, lawmakers Samiksha Baskota, Amaresh Kumar Singh and Krishna Hari Budhathoki will ask questions. From the Nepali Congress, Basana Thapa and Geeta Gurung will participate, while Ain Bahadur Mahar and Ganesh Singh Thagunna will represent the CPN UML.
Likewise, Barshaman Pun and Prem Kumar Hamal from the CPN, Harkaraj Rai from the Shram Sanskriti Party, and Khushbu Oli from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party will also question the Prime Minister.
During the question and answer session, lawmakers are preparing to seek answers from Prime Minister Shah on government actions, policy decisions and contemporary political issues.
The meeting also includes an agenda for Prime Minister Shah to present the Muslim Commission’s seventh annual report for fiscal year 2081/82.
Similarly, Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha will present an agreement between Nepal and India on long term electricity trade.
The Legislative Management Committee and the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will also meet today.
