Kathmandu, August 26: The flood in the Bhotekoshi River has passed Narayanghat and reached Amaltari in Nawalpur. The flow of the Bhotekoshi River reached Narayanghat at 3:35 p.m.
Locals said the river swept away a large number of livestock, gas cylinders, household goods and materials related to water resources and infrastructure.
Chiranjibi Rana, Assistant Chief District Officer of Nawalpur, who has been monitoring the situation, said the risk was expected to decrease as the river had spread over a wider area along the Narayani River from Devghat in Chitwan.
The administration said the risk was lower than initially anticipated because there had been no rainfall in the lower reaches of the river. Assistant CDO Rana said the risk was also expected to gradually decline because precautionary measures had been in place in the riverside areas since early morning.
