
Hetauda, Aug 18: A Scorpio carrying six people, including the chief judge of the High Court Birgunj, crashed at Jurikhet in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality 6 of Makwanpur district.
The vehicle, registration number Province 3 01 002 Jha 5183, was travelling from Kathmandu to Birgunj when it went out of control at around 7 am Tuesday and plunged about 50 to 60 metres down the road into a ravine.
Two women and four men travelling in the vehicle were injured in the accident. Police said one of the women is in critical condition, while the other five have sustained moderate injuries.
A seven-member team, including traffic police, from the Area Police Office, Bhimphedi, reached the scene shortly after receiving information about the accident. Police rescued the injured and took them to Bhimphedi Hospital for treatment.
The identities and details of the injured have not yet been released.
A police team led by Makwanpur District Police Office Superintendent Shyam Bahadur Chhetri also reached the accident site.
The damaged Scorpio remains at the scene, while traffic along the road is operating normally, according to police.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
