Kathmandu, August 16: Nepal Telecom’s net profit increased significantly in the last fiscal year 2082/83. According to the unaudited financial statement up to the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, released by the company on Saturday, its net profit increased by 47.58 percent to Rs 8.8646 billion.
In the previous fiscal year, the company’s net profit stood at Rs 6.0067 billion. According to the statement, the company increased its profit by Rs 2.8579 billion in a single year. During the review period, the company earned a pre-tax profit of Rs 13.2647 billion, which was 34.66 percent higher than its pre-tax profit in the previous fiscal year.
Nepal Telecom also recorded an improvement in its income. According to the financial statement, the company generated total income of Rs 39.19 billion during the review year, an increase of Rs 1.01 billion compared to the previous fiscal year. According to the company, its interest income declined by Rs 861.9 million due to lower interest rates.
