Dhawal Shumsher registers new party

Kathmandu, August 14: Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Rana, who recently left the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has registered a new political party named the “Jai Nepal Party”.

Rana said on Friday that the new party had been formally registered with the Election Commission. “We have formally registered the Jai Nepal Party with the Election Commission today,” he said. “We are grateful to everyone who supported us and extended goodwill during the process of building a nationalist party.”

Rana is the chairperson of the Jai Nepal Party. Earlier, medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai had been announced as the party’s supreme leader. However, Prasai separated from the group before the party was registered.

Chairman Rana said the party will now expand its organization by forming its central working committee and structures at the provincial, district and local levels. He also urged young people interested in contesting the upcoming local-level elections to get in touch with the party.
