Kathmandu, August 13: Former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has reached the contact office of the party’s establishment-opposition faction in Chundevi shortly after returning home after a long absence.
Deuba landed in Kathmandu at around 12:30 p.m. today on a Thai Airways flight and was taken to Chundevi under heavy security from the airport. Leaders, party workers and supporters gathered at the Tribhuvan International Airport extended a warm welcome to Deuba upon his return.
After reaching the office in Chundevi, Deuba was welcomed by Congress leaders and party workers. On the occasion, Deuba also briefly addressed the leaders and workers present.
After being injured in an attack during the Gen-Z movement, Deuba had gone to Singapore on the night of Falgun 13 for treatment and subsequently travelled to Hong Kong on Chaitra 7 for further treatment. Following a lengthy course of treatment, he returned to Nepal today.
Deuba is scheduled to attend the national gathering of the Nepali Congress’s establishment-opposition faction to be held at Miracle Party Palace in Sukedhara tomorrow.
