VAW (Violence Against Women) is a very constantly used word in many parts of the world for some decades. This author also feels any violence against the weaker sex or females is dastardly act which any civil individual should not accept. We all knowthat women are called the weaker sex for many reasons. For example they are smaller in size than men, they are also mostly involved in household work, some improvement may have taken place in last few decades but it is always the women who suffer from different abusement.
This might be the complete other way but there are also many other incidents which this author would like to call VAM (Violence Against Men). Like many women hide cases of harassment, abuse and even rape due to the social shame they might have to face, there are thousands of cases where women have not been able to reveal the abusementthey have to face.
In a similar manner men also feel ashamed to say anything about the abusement they have to face on the hands of a women. So VAM is equally a social malady like VAW. Here it would not be wrong to mention that many cases of VAW are reported and an equally increasing numbers of women’s rights organizations have sprouted with foreign backers, not one word has been spoken about VAM. Why don’t these foreigners who are so aggressive in supporting VAW activist no one has dared to speak about VAM which is equally disturbing the social environment of virtually all the countries of the world and ironically these very countries may be facing similar social disturbances about which they keep quiet.

This is quite unfair, exactly like how the citizens of this country are being compelled to pay outrageous taxes even on basic things which actually the government should give them. For example the general people must have very easy accessibility to many basic needs like education and health services for the general people. The high inflation rate for even the day to day needs of the public has not only made life difficult but it has also invited more criminal activities. So it is one of the most important tasks of the present government to take care of these issues which have a huge impact in the lives of the general people rather than the lofty projects which the authorities have in mind.
Here in our society, individuals who should have shunned by everybody escape the one way or the other and those who know them instead of boycotting any of their activities or keeping a distance from them, they are called successful; this is shameful for the whole society. In the complete contradiction, women who have been abused, harassed and sexually abused cannot come out in open because the same society will outcast them and only the women will be disgraced.
In the same manner, at least this author knows the cases where men have also been equally abused either by women who are more powerful than them and even in their own houses. This is totally unfair. It is as same as in the cases of women where the men admit to anyone including the friends that they have to tolerate not only the physical abuse but also different other harassments from whom the society considers as the “weaker sex”.
Actually such men have no outlet to share such a torturous life that they are living.
Like in the case of top level political leaders, security personnel and civil servants who openly are involved in corruption, nepotism and self-interest only, but who preach others about good governance, this is totally unfair.Besides such malice there exist much discrimination in all other sectors just like corruption and nepotism. This sort of discrimination is very much damaging for the nation.
So it is a setback for the society as a whole, especially when it concerns general disparity. Though we all know that there is no equality in general issues, the cases of women being exploited comes up quite frequently but this does not happen in the case of men who are equally exploited. We are not trying to be unfair or harsh about the women as like we mentioned right in the beginning, we have said that the women are the “weaker sex” and thus we say with conviction that there are more cases of women being exploited in different ways.
So we feel different aspects of gender violation must be looked at with neutralized no matter whether it concerns men or women.
