Kathmandu, July 5: The government has focused on governance reform, public service delivery, good governance, and digital governance as its key achievements during the first 100 days of its tenure.

On the very day it was formed—Chaitra 13, 2082 BS—the government approved and launched the implementation of a 100-point Governance Reform Action Plan at the first meeting of the Council of Ministers. The action plan included specified timelines, designated responsible ministries and agencies, and performance indicators for its implementation.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, said the first year of the government’s tenure has been designated as the “Foundation Year for Governance Reform” to lay the groundwork for long-term institutional transformation. According to him, reform initiatives have focused on administrative reform, public service delivery, digital governance, good governance, fiscal discipline, project management, infrastructure development, and the social sector.

He said that the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has been responsible for the regular monitoring, coordination, and facilitation of the reform programs. While unveiling the government’s achievements during a press conference marking its first 100 days, Pokharel outlined the progress made under the 100-point Governance Reform Action Plan, the achievements and initial outcomes it has produced, as well as several significant reform measures undertaken by various ministries that were not originally included in the action plan.
