Kathmandu, April 4: Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has stated that he does not belong to any faction within the party.
Speaking at the annual general meeting of the BP Memorial Community Cooperative Hospital held in Kathmandu on Saturday, Koirala also expressed dissatisfaction over being portrayed on social media as belonging to one group or another.
“I will continue to make efforts until the very end to unite the Congress and bring it together. I am not in this group or that group,” he said.
He emphasized that his goal is to unite the Nepali Congress and said he would keep striving for that until the end.
“My only wish is to unite the Nepali Congress and once again present ourselves as the number one party. I have no other ambition,” he added.
Koirala further said that his aim is to unify the party and establish it as the leading political force in the upcoming elections.
