
Kathmandu, April 4: The Nepali Congress, which suffered defeat in the House of Representatives election on March 5, has decided to launch a nationwide extensive dialogue program under the leadership of party president Gagan Thapa with the aim of reviving the party.
Speaking to journalists after the party’s orientation program, General Secretary Pradeep Paudel said that, as per the decision of the Central Committee, a direct interaction program with citizens will be carried out.
He said, “We are launching a nationwide dialogue campaign to review the party’s recent electoral defeat and to find ways to strengthen the party again. The Central Committee has decided to conduct citizen interaction programs. Therefore, we have planned interactions and reviews at the national level under the leadership of the party president with intellectuals, professionals, civic leaders, and representatives from various sectors.”
He stated that the program will conduct an in-depth review of the party’s electoral defeat. He also said that strategies necessary to revive the party in the coming days will be formulated after the dialogue. According to him, the campaign will be expanded to the district level as well.
He added, “At the district level, party representatives will directly interact with intellectuals, youth, professionals, and various sections of society. During this process, reviewing the election with citizens will also be given priority. We have also put forward a plan to connect the party with social activities and make the organization more active.”
He further said that the goal is to bring the party closer to the people by conducting various social programs based on local needs. Party representatives have also been assigned the responsibility to actively participate in social activities and work towards strengthening the organization.
