
Kathmandu, March 28: Former prime minister K.P. Sharma Oli is under arrest. He was arrested by the police early this morning from his residence in Gundu, Bjaktapur.
Accordingly, ex-home minister Ramesh Lekhak was arrested earlier to Oli’s arrest. Lekhak was arrested by police a short while ago from his residence in Katunje, Bhaktapur.
Shortly after the formation of the new government, a Cabinet meeting had decided to implement the report prepared by the investigation commission led by Gauribahadur Karki related to the Gen-Z unrest on September 8 and 9.
Immediately afterwards, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held continuous discussions with the heads of security agencies throughout the night. The police had formally requested a written order from the government. Around midnight, the Secretary of the Ministry of Law was also summoned to the headquarters in Naxal.
