
Kathmandu, March 27:In the 15-member Cabinet led by Prime Minister Balen Shah, five ministers are women.
Sobita Gautam has been appointed Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs. Pratibha Rawal will lead the Ministry of General Administration. Sita Wadi has taken charge of the Ministry of Women and Children. Nisha Mehta has been appointed Minister for Health and Population, while Gita Chaudhary will head the Ministry of Agriculture.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers on Friday.
Except for Sobita Gautam, all the ministers were elected to Parliament through the proportional representation system. Gautam, however, is a directly elected Member of Parliament from Chitwan-3.
