Kathmandu, March 23: Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane met Prime Minister Sushila Karki at Baluwatar today for a courtesy call. During the meeting, he congratulated and thanked her, calling the election held under her leadership historic and successful.

Lamichhane said completing a free and peaceful election on time and giving the country a democratic outlet was a major achievement. He praised the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, and the secretariat team, and said he expects continued guidance and a guardian-like role in the days ahead.

He added that the country reached a smooth outcome because of Karki’s firmness and stance, and said the process was more peaceful, fair, and of better quality compared to past elections. He said the country will remember this achievement for a long time.

Prime Minister Karki congratulated the RSP on its electoral success and advised the party to work in unity to meet public expectations. She said people have placed strong hopes on the younger generation and that honest work can deliver results. She stressed that criticism and opposition should be answered through performance.

They also discussed current political issues. Lamichhane said his party has no objection to the decisions taken by the present government and expressed the view that the government should be allowed to complete its full term. He also suggested moving ahead effectively with tasks that can be carried out until a new government is formed.

He raised concerns about the safety of Nepalis abroad, drawing attention to problems faced by Nepali students in Portugal, the security of Nepali workers amid rising tensions in the Middle East, and the supply of petroleum products.
