Palpa, March 22: Four people, including the driver, were killed in a tipper accident in Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-7 of Palpa on Saturday evening.
The death toll rose after 33-year-old Rajan Chidi from Tansen Municipality-10 died during treatment, police said. He had sustained critical injuries in the crash.
The driver, 26-year-old Chinta Bahadur Sunar of Sitganga Municipality-4 in Arghakhanchi, died at the scene. Two others, 26-year-old Sunil BK from the same area and 26-year-old Sunil Nepali of Devdaha Municipality-2 in Rupandehi, were also declared dead.
The tipper, bearing registration number Lu 2 Kha 4525, was heading toward a limestone quarry in Rahabas when it veered off the road and plunged about 100 meters down.
Three victims were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Chidi later died during treatment in Bhairahawa.
