Kathmandu, March 21: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to choose Balendra Shah, known as Balen, as its parliamentary party leader through a unanimous decision.
Party General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti said no voting will be held, as the party plans to endorse Balen by consensus. He was earlier projected as the party’s prime ministerial face when he joined the RSP.
Balen also holds the position of senior leader in the party. A central committee meeting has been scheduled for March 25 to formally appoint him as the parliamentary party leader.
Newly elected lawmakers are preparing to take the oath of office on the same day, while the party is planning to move ahead with government formation on March 26.
