Chitwan, March 7: Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has won the election from Chitwan Constituency No. 2 for the third time.
Lamichhane secured 54,402 votes. His closest rival, Mina Kharel of the Nepali Congress, received 14,564 votes. Lamichhane defeated Kharel by a margin of 39,468 votes.
Asmin Ghimire of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) obtained 6,992 votes, while Pratap Gurung of the Nepal Communist Party received 4,969 votes.
In this constituency, 87,028 votes were declared valid, while 2,796 ballots were invalid.
Lamichhane had earlier won elections from the same constituency in the by-elections held in 2022 and 2023.
