Boy, 17, killed after abduction in Siraha: Eight held

Siraha, Sept 23. The police have taken eight people into custody in connection with the abduction and murder of a boy in Siraha.

According to sources from Siraha police, the eight individuals, including relatives and neighbors of the murdered boy, have been arrested and an investigation has begun. Since the boy’s body was found close to the village, police suspect that someone from his family or neighborhood may have abducted and killed him.

The investigation is ongoing, so the police have kept the names of the arrested individuals confidential.

The victim, 15-year-old Abhishek Singh, son of Sanjay Singh from Velha Dangraha, Golbazar Municipality-13, Siraha, was found dead after being abducted.

Inspector Dharmesh Kumar Yadav, information officer at the District Police Office, Siraha, said the boy’s body was discovered this morning in a mango orchard a short distance from his home.

According to the family, Abhishek went missing last Sunday night around 8 pm. Despite searching throughout the night, they could not locate him.

On Monday morning, around 8 am, a message was received on the mother’s phone from Abhishek’s mobile stating that he had been abducted and a ransom was being demanded. The family immediately reported the matter to the police, said Inspector Yadav.

The message sent by the abductors in Hindi read:

“Your man is with us. If you want your man safe, then give us 50 million rupees and we will return him to you. If not, we will kill him and throw him in the river. If you try to inform the police, we will kill him and throw him in the river. We need the money by the 25th, otherwise he will be killed. No one in your village should find out. For your information, we are from Bihar. Don’t worry, your man is safe. Just fulfill our demand and we will return him to you.”
