Dr. Ruit urges for patience, restraint

Kathmandu, Sept 9: Senior ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit has appealed to the Gen Z protesters to remain calm. He said that since the intolerant and corrupt political leadership has already retreated, it is not right to set fire to or destroy public property.

“Protecting public property is the first duty of every citizen. So let us not damage it, nor let others do so. Let us show restraint,” he wrote, adding, “Let us all save the country together, let us all build the country together.”

Posting on social media, Dr. Ruit wrote, “Brothers and sisters protesting on the streets for change, the corrupt and intolerant political leadership has stepped back because of your indomitable courage. In this situation, it is not right to burn or destroy public property.”

He urged everyone to unite to safeguard and build the nation. “Protecting public property is the first duty of every citizen. So let us not damage it, nor let others do so. Let us show restraint,” he wrote, “Let us all save the country together, let us all build the country together.”
