Kathmandu, August 11: “I will take initiative for Nepalgunj-Delhi direct air service”, said Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.
Leaders of major political parties from Banke visited the Ministry on Monday, urging it to take the initiative for Nepalgunj-Delhi flights, in respomnse, Minister Rana made this commitment to the members of parliament from Banke and Bardiya, industrialists, businessmen, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders for taking initiative in starting air service from Nepalgunj to New Delhi, India.
Minister Rana said, "I have already taken the initiative for that flight." “We have prioritized the Nepalgunj-Delhi flight agenda. This flight will bring mutual benefits to Nepal and India, and the more we can increase connectivity, the more Nepal will benefit, so I will work for this agenda,” she said.
She said that only by increasing connectivity between Nepal and India, there will be an increase in tourism, transit, industry, trade, and public relations, and this will benefit both sides.
Stating that this flight will make a significant contribution to the economy of western Nepal and will change the face of that region, Minister Dr. Rana said that she will work seriously for the Nepalgunj-Delhi flight as the necessary tourism infrastructure, including hotels, has already been built in Nepalgunj.
