Gorkhapatra, the government’s mouthpiece, is publishing supplements in different 44 languages spoken by different ethnic communities in the country. Gorkhapatra readers don’t understand what is written in these supplements. They are useless for other communities. We suggest the Gorkhapatra management and the Ministry for Information and Communication Technology publish separate newspapers in different ethnic languages and circulate them in districts dominated by the concerned ethnic communities.
Permanently operation of Bhairahawa and Pokhara international airports
Five international airlines have started flying to Bhairahawa from different destinations along with the closure of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for ten hours daily for maintenance.
After five months, the TIA is going to operate at full capacity and again, airlines flying to Bhairahawa may shift to Kathmandu.
For the operation of the Bhairahawa and Pokhara international airports, the airfare to and from Bhairahawa and Pokhara to foreign destinations should be cheaper by a minimum of 15 thousand rupees than the airfare from Kathmandu. If it happens, local airlines can transfer passengers to and from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Bhairahawa and passengers can catch their flights to foreign destinations from there. Local airlines will also get business in doing so.
As the airfare has hiked due to the cutdown of flights from TIA, people are going to Indian cities to catch their flights for their foreign destinations. The very people can go to Pokhara and Bhairahawa to catch their foreign destinations by bus or other means if the airfare is cheaper by a minimum of 15 thousand rupees from the two international airports.
Thus, we suggest the CAAN either hike the landing charge at Kathmandu making 15 thousand expensive and subsidizing the airfare from Bhairahawa and Pokhara. In this way, passengers would be encouraged to go to Bhairahawa and Pokhara to catch their flights.
Marriage age
A Nepali boy or girl is eligible to get Nepali citizenship at the age of 16 years but he or she has to wait for an additional four years to get married. A boy having a citizenship certificate can vote for the candidates during the elections. After obtaining Nepali citizenship the boy is considered to be a mature citizen of the country, if so, why wait for more than four years to get married? Let’s think about it.
