Kathmandu, August 31: Dinesh Bhattarai, secretary at the Women, Children and Social Welfare Ministry, has tendered his resignation expressing dissatisfaction with the promotion of a junior secretary, Eknarayan Aryal, to the post of the chief secretary.
Bhattarai is the second senior secretary in the government.
Earlier, the secretary at the National Planning Commission, Toyanarayan Gyawali, the first senior secretary in the government, had tendered his resignation expressing his dissatisfaction with the promotion of junior secretary Aryal.
Aryal ranks at fourth position among the secretaries, yet, the government lifted him to the post of chief secretary by sidelining senior secretaries in the government.
