PM Oli extends invitation to Indian PM Narendra Modi


Kathmandu, August 12: Indian foreign secretary Bikram Misri, who arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday, paid courtesy calls on President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli the same day.
President Paudel, during the meeting, asked Misri to work with Nepal and India together to minimize the climate change impact.
In response, Misri expressed the commitment to work together on climate change.
During the meeting between PM Oli and Misri, the former extended an invitation to Indian PM Narendra Modi for a visit to Nepal.

Misri recalled century-old relations between Nepal and India and expressed commitment to give new heights to relations during his tenure.
Misri also extended an invitation to Oli for a visit to India sent by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Misri also paid courtesy calls on DPMs Prakashman Singh, Bishnu Poudel and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak on the same day.
Misri is on an official visit to Nepal at the invitation of foreign secretary Sewa Lamsal.
Lamsal hosted a dinner on Sunday evening in honour of the Indian foreign secretary.
Misri is paying a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba and holding a bilateral meeting with the Nepali team led by Lamsal.
Misri is returning home today.
