Kathmandu, July 26: Nepal is elected vice chair from the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations from the Asia-Pacific Region.

The ECOSOC is one of the important bodies in the UN.

Nepal’s permanent representative to the UN, Lok Bahadur Thapa will lead the ECOSOC. In the coming year, Nepal will become the chairman of the ECOSOC Asia Pacific Region.
