
Kathmandu, July 9: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) has amended its statute by introducing the provision of electing its president through a direct election.
The amended statute has been endorsed by the working committee of the FNCCI on Monday.
The central working committee of the umbrella organization of the businessmen and industrialists has decided to elect president through direct voting and also elect two senior vice presidents, and four vice presidents including one female compulsorily.
The new statute was passed unanimously.
Earlier, there was a provision for the senior vice president to automatically become the president for the next tenure.
The statute approved by the working committee should be ratified by the national convention. For this purpose, the FNCCI has decided to call a special national convention by the end of the month Mangsir (mid-December).
