Kathmandu, June 18: Rajendra Lingden, chairman, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, has alleged that policies are being made to facilitate foreigners in the energy sector. In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, he presented a proposal to reduce the expenditure of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation to one rupee under the Appropriation Bill, 2081. He said that the budget has not come to inspire investors.
He said that the budget should bring a special policy in the energy sector, saying that only foreigners are targeted, and emphasized that projects should be made in the energy sector with Nepali investment. He said that policies have been made that are difficult for Nepali investors and policies have been made that are easy for foreigners.
He blamed that sufficient budget was not allocated for multi-purpose projects like Budhigandaki and said that it is not clear how the Budhigandaki project will proceed. Stating that the finance minister and ministers have brought the budget to make their party workers and their electoral constituencies happy, he said that he will not change this budget and for the record in the parliament, he disagreed on the budget.
