Kathmandu, June 17: The Kathmandu Valley witnessed a shortage of petroleum products following shut down of the private pumps after the drivers of the tankers carrying petroleum products launched a strike. With the agreement between Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and petroleum drivers on Monday, the shortage of petroleum products is expected to end.
According to Nepal Oil Corporation spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur, the supply will become smooth starting Monday as the two sides have reached an agreement. The drivers started their seven-point agitation demanding appointment letters as per the Labour Act, salary as prescribed by the government, and affiliation with the Social Security Fund.
