Food transportation from Kerung to Simkot starts

Kathmandu, June 14: The food grain transportation from Kathmandu to Hilsa to Simkot via Kerung pass in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China through Rasuwagadhi has started.

Two days ago, the shipment of the food grain from Kathmandu started from Kerung to the Hilsa border with the transportation subsidy of Food Management and Trade Company Limited.

Navin Acharya of the Limited’s Humla Branch said that the transportation of food grains to Hilsa via Chinese territory has started from Rasuwagadhi via Kerung pass.

The Food Management Ltd. has been transporting food grains for Humla through this route, there was a quota of 5,000 quintals of food grains in this financial year. He said that earlier the road was blocked due to snowfall and now the road has also been opened and the transportation of food has started after the documents were arranged from the Chinese Embassy.

He said that it will take five days to deliver goods to Hilsa through the Chinese route from the Kerung border, and from Hilsa the transportation will be done to Namkha Rural Municipality center Yalwang and Simkot using Nepali transport.
